This wine is meant to be a gift in honor and memory of our father, Ottorino, affectionately known as Otto, who dedicated his life to work and his passion for wine, becoming a renowned and expert oenologist.
This is the origin of Otto – Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG “Cascina Liuzzi”.

“OTTO” – Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG “Cascina Liuzzi”

Barbera d’Asti has been a DOC wine since 1970 and became a DOCG in 2008.

Color: Ruby red tending to garnet red with aging
Aroma: Intense and characteristic, tending to ethereal with aging
Taste: Dry, calm, full-bodied, with adequate aging more harmonious, pleasant and full-flavored
Alcohol content: 14.5% vol. (depending on the vintage)
Aging: The Barbera d’Asti Superiore “Otto” undergoes an aging of at least 14 months, of which at least 6 months in large barrels
Soil: Sandy-clay
Training and pruning system: Espalier and guyot pruning
Plant density: 4500 vines per ha
Altitude: 350m above sea level with southeast exposure

The harvest takes place in late September (depending on the vintages), completely manual in 20kg crates, with traditional vinification for 15 days.
The aging in barrels enhances the wine’s bouquet. Aroma of vanilla, red berries. It is rightly tannic and leaves a persistent and pleasant aftertaste in the mouth. The wine has a structure that allows it to be consumed even after 10 years.
